After 40 years, the 106 silos for animal feed needed to be replaced. Van Mourik Group was tasked with replacing all of them while ensuring that production could largely continue. Prior to execution, we conducted an inspection and developed a detailed action plan. This step-by-step plan outlined how we would replace the silos in groups of four and what impact this would have on production. Additionally, we created a Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) plan to ensure all work would be carried out according to the applicable regulations. A key challenge was to maintain the structural integrity of the existing construction while dismantling and replacing silos up to 19 meters high. To achieve this, we implemented special reinforcements between the existing supports.

By installing smooth-walled silos, the flow properties of the animal feed may have been improved.

During the dismantling and installation process, For Farmers’ operators were able to adjust transport processes, allowing production to continue as much as possible and keeping costs under control.
